Who wants to visit Nagasaki with Japan Rail Pass, must ride this express
If you reach Hakata and want to visit Nagasaki too, you should take this limited express from JR Kyushu. Its name is Kamome, it means seagull in Japanese.
This express also has a lovely face like the Tsubame Shinkansen. Is JR Kyushu specialising in such lovely looking models?

A 2 hour train journey from Hakata to Nagasaki with gorgeous leather seats
Our Japan Rail Pass was for Green cars (1st class), so we could get our seats in the 1st car and all seats in this express were made of leather.
This seagull express looks very sweet, and it is really spacious. When we boarded, we were really tiered of the long train journey from Tokyo, but the last section of the way to Nagasaki was relaxing.
Sorry, there is no photo of the view through the window, we slept well on these very comfortable seats after eating…

How to enjoy your travel in the Kamome
Eventually, we reached Nagasaki station after a long train journey from Tokyo (around 8 hours). We are sure that you can enjoy your long journey at this last section of the way to Nagasaki.
Only pay attention that there is no on board food service available in this express, so you have to buy something to eat and drink at Hakata station. There are many shops at this station that offer plenty specialties and lunch boxes, so you have to make a difficult decision. Be careful of the departing time of your train, if you are really into finding yummy foods, time is going to fly.
